Summerfest!
Tomorrow I am going to Summerfest, I’ll work on getting some nice pictures. I’ll probably listen to some good music and play LittleBigPlanet!
Parallels
I have been messing around with Parallels lately. It’s pretty sweet! I have been considering using Boot Camp and then having Parallels read that install but I only have a SP0 install disk. Boot Camp requires SP2. I bought Parallels Desktop, MacPilot, and Kill Monty for $40 from non-other-than Macheist. Home
I made it home around 1:30pm. Then I unpacked and had to check everything new on the computer. That took a while. I also noticed that Parallels 3 for Mac was on sale through MacHeist for $40 so I bought that and set up windows XP.
Almost Home
This drive really hasn’t been bad. I went to starbucks and got a triple shot venti mocha and then almost won a psp on that block stacking game (got to the last line). I don’t really like starbucks but I love my espresso! Alterra is way cooler. 2 hours left.
Friday
Friday, yup today. We got up, ate, packed and then went on a swamp tour. We got to see some huge alligators and I have some great pictures. Then we ate lunch and got on the bus. Here I am right now, typing all these on the bus. Hopefully the AC won’t break like it did on the way here… I took almost 1500 pictures and had a great time! Thursday
Thursday was probably my favorite day. We got to the work site and worked so hard! It was our last day working. Then around noon the owner brought some jumbolia (or whatever its called) which was amazing. We also got the two little kids presents and gave them to them. They loved it. Wednesday
Wednesday was also pretty similar to the other days. The main difference was the crayfish boil. For dinner they got 200 pounds of crayfish. Boiled with some spicy seasonings and corn, potatoes and sausage. I dug in. The crayfish was amazing. It wasn’t too spicy but some people freaked out. I ate so many crayfish but its hard to get much meat out of those small things.
Tuesday
Tuesday really wasn’t much different than Monday. A lot more tiling and some stops to try some food. This day the home owners and their kids came over. They were vey nice and she said she would bring us some food on our last day. That was something to look forward to. I also went to another work site and took a few pictures. Monday
Monday was the first real day of the trip. We got woken up at 6:30 and then ate breakfast. After that we got to listen to this long talk about what we would be doing and we left for our house. So church leaders aren’t fans of cell phones. I got mine back today and tomorrow I will write 5 posts (1 for each day) about the week. I took 1000+ pictures and will probably get them up by Monday (not all of course). I’ll be home on Saturday!!
More riding
I’ve got a little less than 6 hours left but that is not including stops… I’m still not that bored; played some psp, read some, and listened to music the whole time. Loud music. So I don’t get that pissed of at some other people. Got 4 hours of sleep and went to mcdonalds for breakfast. Anyway, almost there maybe I will post again tonight or maybe a photo.
The ride
I’m one hour in. Its not that bad, I watched an episode of mythbusters. Now I am reading “Nothing to Lose” by Lee Child. 16 hours left :P.
Almost gone
There are a series of bike races going on downtown. I’m going to watch for an hour, then head off to church.
I'm all packed!
I’ve packed up everything I need for the trip. I’m not bringing much with. I only packed my camera, iPhone, PSP, and the essentials. I’ve just got 22 hours left at home.
Just 2 hours left! I almost forgot to pack my Sony eReader. Charged that up, added a book, and put it in my bag. Then I just have the long long drive.
Slidell Lousiana
This Saturday until next I will be going on a mission trip to Slidell Lousiana. Just some Hurricane relief work. I’m not supposed to have a phone with, but I can have an iPod, so I’ll just bring my iPhone! I hope to maybe posts updates about what’s going on, but I never know if I will be able to until I get there…..
